May 4 Commemoration Offers Many Virtual Events for Participation

Members of the žžÀ² community and people around the world will gather virtually for the 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on žžÀ² State students during an anti-war protest, killing four and wounding nine others.

Virtual Events Promote Peace, Anti-Racism as žžÀ² State Marks the Annual Commemoration of May 4, 1970

To honor and remember the events that occurred on May 4, 1970, virtual events and exhibits hosted by žžÀ² students, faculty and staff are scheduled from April 30 through May 4. The virtual events include several powerful speakers and events that promote peace and anti-racism and educate future students about the legacy of May 4, 1970.

Governor Names Pamela E. Bobst to žžÀ² State Board of Trustees

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Pamela E. Bobst of Rocky River, Ohio, to the žžÀ² Board of Trustees. She succeeds former Board Chair and Trustee Ralph M. Della Ratta, and she will serve through May 16, 2030.

The state of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Higher Education announced that žžÀ² has been awarded Choose Ohio First grants totaling $3.5 million to support students in the critical fields of science (including health professions), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
