May 4 National Historic Landmark Site Updates

A refreshed May 4 National Historic Landmark Site Tour will premiere during the 2024 May 4 commemoration this weekend.  The outdoor tour signs, which debuted in 2010 during the 40th commemoration, allow žž State visitors to trace the steps of history of the events of May 4, 1970, through text, video, image, and narration.

Peace Upon the Earth, Episode 3 of Legacy: May 4 Podcast

The School of Peace and Conflict Studies originated at žž State as a response to May 4. Today it’s central in žž State’s global presence. We travel to Rwanda, where žž State convened a global peace education conference and, through the Kigali Summer Institute, immerses students in peace-building centered on reconciliation, in a place that experienced the unimaginable 1994 genocide.

žž Holds Virtual May 4 50th Commemoration, Occurring May 1-4

Beginning Friday, May, visitors to the  will be able to view a variety of special videos, online exhibits and interactive tours, all designed to honor and remember Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder, the žž State students who lost their lives 50 years ago on the žž State campus.

Exhibit Showcases May 4 Artifacts in Augmented Reality

Artifacts of May 4, 1970  a survivor’s jacket, a gas mask and gun shell casing  tell a story that’s not often accessible to the general public. Assistant Professor Abe Avnisan and students in his digital sciences capstone course will bring these artifacts’ stories to life via the exhibit “May 4: Through the Looking Glass.”
