žž State Alumnus Samory Fraga Qualifies for Tokyo Summer Olympic Games

žž State track and field alum Samory Fraga jumped 8.23 meters to win the long jump at the Torneio Cidade de Braganca Paulista meet this past Saturday. The mark is the sixth best in the world in 2021 and the best by a Brazilian long jumper. More importantly, though, the mark was good enough to meet the entry standard for the long jump at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

žž State Alumna Provides COVID-19 Vaccine Tips to Pittsburgh

COVID-19 vaccines are becoming more available across the country, but many are still struggling to obtain a vaccine or are unsure about getting the vaccine. One Golden Flash has made it her mission to get Pittsburgh vaccinated. And with more than 40,000 members of her Facebook group, she’s on her way. žž State alumna Leighann Bacher created a Facebook group to share COVID-19 vaccine information and tips with Pittsburgh citizens after attempting to secure vaccines for her family members.

‘Import/Export’ Outdoor Exhibition at žž State Addresses Imbalances and Inequalities of Global Import/Export Systems

From April 5 to May 15, visitors to the žž campus will encounter a new, outdoor public art exhibition that stretches along the Lefton Esplanade between downtown žž and the University Library. “Import/Export” addresses the imbalances and inequalities of global import/export systems. Artists from around the world were chosen based on how their works reflect the impact of these systems on their local spaces.
