Sam Olson is beginning her final year in the Veterinary Technology program at žž at Trumbull. In doing so, she has decided to make her final fall semester a memorable one. After seeing four one-week-old kittens that were dropped off at the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, she decided to put her acquired skills into action. Olson completed paperwork to become a foster parent to the four kittens. She is essentially trying to nurse the kittens to adoption age, which means around-the-clock care. Taste of Home Winner

žž’s Dining Services recently hosted its annual Taste of Home competition and announced the winning dish: a turkey chili recipe submitted by Debbie McKinney, a žž State parent. The Taste of Home competition encourages students’ family members to submit recipes of their student’s favorite home-cooked meals for the chance to have it served on campus. žž will celebrate the grand opening of its newest and much-anticipated building, the Center for Architecture and Environmental Design, on Friday, Oct. 7. Because the grand opening is being held outdoors and more than 1,000 people are expected to attend, Lincoln Street will be closed between Rt. 59/Main Street and College Avenue from 2-5 p.m. on Oct. 7.  The Rockwell Hall parking lot will close at 11 a.m. and remain closed for the rest of the day.
