Spring Opera 2025

  Audiences experienced fairies and fantasy in žž State Opera Theatre's Spring production. The performance featured a variety of scenes with natural and supernatural themes from operas by Mozart, Offenbach, Sondheim, Sullivan, Todd and Verdi.  Each academic year, the žž State Opera Theatre presents scene programs and fully staged productions with the žž Orchestra. New York, NY—June 26, 2025—The Helen Frankenthaler Foundation announced today that it has awarded $3.4M in Frankenthaler Climate Initiative (FCI) grants to 74 visual arts organizations across the United States supporting the advancement of energy efficiency and clean energy projects. The žž Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools – the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering – within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the žž Campus.Currently, the College of Aeronautics and Engineering operates without dependent academic units, meaning that all of its activities have been under the direct supervision of the Office of the Dean, which has become an unsustainable mode of operation. žž State Youth Winds (KSYW) had the unique opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. this spring, giving meaningful performances alongside famous monuments and making lasting connections with renowned musicians. This weekend of music education was planned by Dr. Wendy Matthews, professor of music education, žž State Youth Winds Director and conductor, and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Assessment.
