City Income Tax Increase Will Impact žžÀ² Campus Employee Paychecks

Voters in the city of žžÀ² approved an income tax increase in the November 2013 election. As a result, on Jan. 1, 2014, the income tax rate for the city of žžÀ² increased from 2 percent to 2.25 percent.

This means that žžÀ² employees at the žžÀ² Campus will have an additional amount withheld from their paycheck for žžÀ² City taxes. The increase will begin with the first pay in January for faculty, classified, unclassified and student employees on the žžÀ² Campus.

žžÀ² Campus employees who live in a taxing municipality outside of žžÀ² should contact their city’s tax office to see if the žžÀ² city increase will impact any taxes that may be owed to their city of residence.

Any questions about the change in city income tax should be directed to Lisa Heilman, payroll manager, at 330-672-8640 orlheilman@kent.edu.
