Celebrating 100 years

From Fall 2009 through Summer 2010, alumni, community members, students, faculty and staff joined together to make some noise while celebrating the university’s 100th birthday. Let’s face it, after a century of service, our alma mater has good reason to celebrate. In fact, she has at least .

• It is unlikely that, 50 years from now, anyone won’t remember where the žžÀ² Centennial Time Capsule was buried. That’s because more than 60 people joined in a ceremony Aug. 10, 2010 to see the capsule buried on Risman Plaza near the žžÀ² Student Center Kiva. Using a track hoe, former žžÀ² State President Lester A. Lefton lowered the stainless steel box, which will be unsealed in 2060, six feet into a concrete vault in the ground.
