Laurie Robinson, Ph.D, MSN RN
Biography
My nursing career started in 2003 where I became a Labor and Delivery nurse. I loved this area of nursing and have never really left this specialty. Supporting new parents as they transition into this new stage of life has been a real joy for me. I branched out from my inpatient role to also become a childbirth educator where I worked at Akron General. This role was unexpectedly changed the trajectory of my career. I found that I love teaching as much as nursing.
I went back to school at žžÀ² State where I earned my MSN in Nursing Education and began teaching as full time faculty here in 2017. I have stayed PRN at the hospital where I remained a floor nurse until 2022, where I transitioned to only the childbirth educator role.
I graduated May of 2025 with my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from žžÀ² State.
