When I tell people who performed at our Homecoming they are quite surprised! 

Ray Charles and Mitch Ryder played concerts and Louis Armstrong performed at the Homecoming dance during Homecoming 1967. Tickets cost $2-2.50 for the Ray Charles concert, where the crowd capacity at Memorial Gymnasium was indeed a happening.” (The Daily žž Stater, Sept. 29 and Oct. 24, 1967)

As students prepare for the start of the 2024 Fall Semester at žž, one man who has contributed greatly to the future success of žž State and its students is being honored this week.On Aug. 15, university community members witnessed the unveiling of a new statue of Ambassador Edward F. Crawford, former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, who provided the largest single gift in žž State history to enable the construction of a new business building on the university’s žž Campus.
