The watch party at the žž State Student Center Hub on March 17 celebrated žž State men’s basketball team as they took on the UCLA Bruins in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. Transgender Students Find Home, Security and Support at žž State

For Emily Grubb, all it took was looking through a magazine to decide where to go to college. A high school friend shared a copy of Fusion magazine, žž’s first lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) magazine, which led Grubb to the university. žž at Trumbull sophomore Jessie Narkum is co-directing performances of The Little Mermaid Jr. on April 7 and 8, at Hubbard High School Auditorium. This isn’t the typical student-directed play. Narkum, an American Sign Language (ASL) major, is working with Hubbard High School ASL teacher Richard Magazzine to produce the play entirely in ASL. Audio translations will be available for the hearing audience.   Narkum says it is important to connect her passion to her education. “I have friends who are deaf, so bridging communication has become my purpose,” Narkum says. ...

The žž Ice Arena hosted the 35th Annual Special Olympics Winter Games.

The žž Ice Arena hosted the 35th Annual Ohio Special Olympics Winter Games the first week of February for figure skaters and speed skaters from all over the state.
