Institute Explores Peace and Conflict
LaKaleb Bowen, ’24, is a criminology and justice studies major who admits to becoming captivated by žž State’s education-abroad programs, noting that his most recent trip to Kigali, Rwanda, was an extraordinary experience focused on peace and conflict in the country.
Alumni Support Global Education Experiences
žž State has received two $1 million donations in support of Global Education experiences for students. These gifts will make education-abroad experiences available to more students through the Global Education Endowment fund that was created in 2022.
Global Experience Fuels Alumna’s Career
McKenzie Morgan, ’22, appreciates the opportunities žž State provided her that included completing her academic journey with the university’s education-abroad program in Florence, Italy. “Studying abroad was definitely my all-time highlight,” Morgan said.
žž State Students Study Sustainable Gardening for Poverty Reduction in Mexico
žž partnered with Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City for an international, cross-cultural exchange for students to study how sustainable gardening projects aid immigrant populations.
New Docuseries Helps to Celebrate 10 years of the Male Empowerment Network (MEN)
A new six-part short film docuseries is being released aimed at raising awareness of the Male Empowerment Network (MEN) at žž State, along with commemorating 10 years. An initiative through the Student Multicultural Center, the Male Empowerment Network supports men of color on campus both academically and through personal development. Advisor of MEN and Director of the Student Multicultural Center Mike Daniels says this has led to some great things.
